Dear Friends of SrrTrains,

Because SrrTrains is now going to start to begin to leave the hibernation mode 🙂 and because there was some positive feed back about the introduction of a playground, I felt free to create a new repository on GitHub.

Currently the repository contains only a README file.

My initial plan is to release the SrrTrains documentation by a GPL, using that repository.

However, the repository is also open to any other activity that might help to reach the defined goal (ya know: SMS-BONES-GPS 😉 ).

Have a nice first week of advent

Yours Christoph

SPARK – Simple Playground to Acquire Required Knowledge

Now, when I’m going to start to leave the hibernation mode of SrrTrains, this means not only changes within the SrrTrains project, but it means also another project, a “black project”.

So we have two projects:

  1. An Approximation of First Order – i.e. using the DIS Component
  2. A Fire Burning in a Community to build the Final Solution – i.e. using the Network Sensor

Not to be discussed: using X3D yes/no. General Architectural Considerations.

The fire will be lighted by a SPARK.

This idea being a great idea?

Comments welcome.

Yours Christoph

SrrTrains – Change of Project Status

Dear Friends of SrrTrains,

In the next days, I will update the Web representation of the SrrTrains v0.01 project to reflect following decision.

I have decided to change the project status:
– old status = “Hibernation Mode”
– new status = “Leaving the Hibernation Mode”

This does not yet mean that leaving the Hibernation Mode will actually be feasible in the end.

It need not even mean any other change during the next few weeks/months/years.

It’s just a change of the project status.

But it IS a change of the project status.

Reason: During last few weeks I received two or three timid indications that the ideas behind the project are shared by a non-empty set of people.

However, anyone of those people has got his/her own interests, capabilities and obstacles. So it is not likely that everyone will pull together.

Have a nice week

SrrTrains – SVN Revision 326 / 96

Dear Friends of SrrTrains,

I have uploaded following SVN revisions to the sourceforge projects:

simulrr.sourceforge.net: SVN revision 326
smuos.sourceforge.net: SVN revision 96

This is the first version of the software that contains the UBO Loader (unfinished).

The UBO Loader will be the essential prototype to support “unbound objects”, which are objects that can be loaded / unloaded at runtime and which can change their being attached to this or that module.

We will use UBOs in SrrTrains for locomotives and wagons.

The next release “Arimathea” is still planned for “not before 2019”.

The project is still resting in “Hibernation Mode” 🙂

All the best and have a nice week

Yours Christoph

YARD – Yet Another Re-Design

I know, why I promised the locomotives for the SrrTrains project “not before 2019”.

Now, when implementing the “UBO Loader”, I have realized I have to re-design the “activation” procedure of all parts of the SSC 😦

See the explanation in following paper: activation-of-a-part-of-the-ssc.pdf

Locomotives (aka UBOs)

Hi all,

This is about the SrrTrains v0.01 project. I have promised, I am now going to implement Unbound Objects (UBOs), which are the basis to implement the locomotives again.

And actually I have started to write down my thoughts in a paper: ideas-Ubo-Design.pdf (updated by 2017-09-02!)

Ok, but it will take some time. The locomotives will be finished “not before 2019”.

Have a nice week

SrrTrains – New Concept Paper

Dear all,

As I told you lately, I am trying to implement the railway vehicles by 2019.

Additionally, I am working on the final version of the “New SrrTrains Concept Paper”. This will be finished by 2019, too.

I have got a preview version of the 66 pages here:
SrrTrains New Concept Paper (draft).

I have tried to be concise and short yet complete.

The software itself is available at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/simulrr

Have a nice week

A sudden Idea

A sudden idea:

First generation „Mixed Reality Groupcall”:  MSC-S + GPRS + ITR + SMS + DIS + Xj3d

Second generation “Mixed Reality Groupcall”: 3GPP Mission Critical Services (MCData = MSRP/TCP) + BS Contact + BS Collaborate

Third generation “Mixed Reality Groupcall”: “Something with XMPP and/or WebRTC”

Anyway: do we have a use case yet? That’s the “conditio sine qua non”

Have a nice week

Step Two – Elaborate Visions (EVi)

Hi all,

To be honest. The second step of the “Hibernation of Arrt”,which is starting now, will just implement locomotives and rail cars to the SrrTrains v0.01 project (finished not before 2019).

Nothing more – and nothing less.

However – I’m additionally trying to finish the “new concept paper” (in English language).

Ch. 1 – 8, App. E. and G.

Well, the appendices E and G were finished long ago, now I have started to write the main chapters: Chapters 1 to 8 should be OK now (9 to 13 to be done)

Concept Paper (under construction): hr007-new-concept-paper_2017_07_15.pdf

Have a nice week

Neue Namensregeln – SrrTrains

Bei den ersten Überlegungen jetzt endlich die “Unbound Objects (UBOs)” zu implementieren (geplant bis 2019) bin ich hinter ein paar kleine Probleme gekommen, die zuerst noch zu beheben sein werden:

Siehe den “Hobby Report 012 – New Instance Naming”
https://letztersein.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/hr012-new-instance-naming-v1-3.pdf (latest update 2017-07-15)

Viel Spaß
